The Alpe San Giovanni is an oasis of peace and spirituality which came to life through the respectful renovation of a village within reach of the falls of Limonetto. The “Napoleon Tunnel” celebrates the attempt to cross the mountains by passing through a tunnel, the digging of which was started in the XVIIth Century, continued in the XIXth Century and was actually realised only in 1882 at a lower altitude. On the French side you can notice mighty fortifications built in the XIXth Century and employed during the war.

Traditions, relax, entertainment and local cooking
The Province of Cuneo is synonym of superb culinary tradition, summarized in its symphony of tang and light savors, ancient recipes and good-eating, based upon seasonal renowned farm products, meats (Piedmont’s peculiar cattle breed, pigs and sheep). Others specialties come from the mountain woods and rivers (mushrooms, chestnuts, trout, berries) and from the fertile hills (nuts and his Majesty the White Truffle). These generous Nature gifts are at the heart of a world-wide esteemed culinary philosophy based on traditions and refinement.
